March 2010: Twisted Tails IV: Fantastic Flights of Fantasy - which includes my short story, Repo Girl and the Fortune Faerie - is a Finalist in the 2009 ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Awards. I'm extremely honored to be chosen as a Finalist in the same category as so many luminaries in the world of literature. Twisted Tails IV is competing against an anthology edited by Peter Straub, and anthologies that include work by some very impressive modern and classic authors: Junot Diaz, Joyce Carol Oates, Michael Chabon, Jhumpa Lahiri, Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Frank McCourt, Harlan Ellison, John Steinbeck, Mark Twain, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Edgar Allan Poe, Herman Melville, and many other well-known authors. Here are the Finalists:

February 2010: Marilyn is now working with Editor Alan Rinzler on the editing of her science fiction novel, Gods in the Machine.

February 2010: Marilyn's short story, Dialing the Future, has been published in the anthology, Twisted Tails V: Apocalypses Now and Then.

October 7, 2009: Marilyn's short story, Bright Moon, set in modern-day China, is published on the wonderful Glass Cases blog run by publishing industry assistant Sarah LaPolla: http://bigglasscases.blogspot.com

September 2009: Marilyn has completed writing Gods in the Machine, an adult science fiction novel.  She's now looking for a literary agent to represent her work.

May 2009: Several of Marilyn Peake's submissions are published in Book: The Sequel at Book Expo America 2009!  More information about this can be found on Marilyn's website, in the section for Book: The Sequel.

Marilyn Peake is delighted to be the Featured e-Author for February 2009 at NightsAndWeekends.com, and to be interviewed there by Reviewer Margaret Marr.  Margaret is actually the only reviewer who didn't especially like Marilyn's children's novel, The Fisherman's Son.  However, to Marilyn's great delight, this reviewer loves her adult fiction, referring to Marilyn as "one of the best e-authors on the Internet":

"Introduction to Television Writing" Course Taught by Thom Bray
Marilyn took an online course entitled "Introduction to Television Writing" at www.write4television.com.  The course was taught by Thom Bray.  His credentials include: acting roles in "Riptide" and "Lou Grant," and his experience as a television scriptwriter for shows including "Designing Women," Evening Shade," and "Now and Again."
